Katrina

We survived whatever was left of Katrina here in North Alabama. A power outage in the middle of the night, lots of rain and a couple of branches down from the trees.

Music Manager Updates!

First of all, I updated the gmm's build system with the latest version. Next I created a new CVS module for music manager and imported all files into CVS.

I updated musicmanager to the latest version of FOX (snapshot). It definitly doesn't work anymore with FOX 1.4. I fixed an issue with the playlist sorting which wasn't put in the right state when starting up and I fixed a crash related to deleting something that doesn't exist.

Chocolate Music Reviews

Here are a couple of reviews of Danny Elfman's soundtrack for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Groucho Reviews says "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the most memorable collaboration of Burton and Elfman since Edward Scissorhands, and the soundtrack album affords a great opportunity to relish it.".

Monster&Critics says "Danny Elfman’s score for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory captures the mood of the story, conveying the excitement and wonder as well as the strangeness of Wonka’s factory."

Blunt Review says "you can feel the excitement of the army of musicians involved - this is fun music, technically and sounderlyishly.".

Read the reviews and then get the album!

(pool)day

The best thing to do when it is 98F outside is to hang out in the pool all day. So I did.

Road Hazard & Flowers

In the category "movies you really don't want to see", this week its the Dukes of Hazard. Roger Ebert has a nice review for it. In the category "movies I like to see but can't since the local theater doesn't show it" I'm nominating "Broken Flowers", starring Bill Murray, Sharon Stone and Jessica Lange. Again, Roger Ebert has very nice review for it. I guess I'll have to wait for its DVD release.

Repositories

Believe it or not, but I finally started using CVS at home for all my projects. The first project to be committed into CVS was my "Goggles Build System", which should help making it easier to maintain the build system across different projects. The next couple of days, I will be updating each projects build system with the latest one and commit each project to CVS.
