GMM: Continued

I haven't released gmm 0.6.1 yet. I discovered it was little bit more work than I initially imagined. Though I made a lot of progress anyway. Stay tuned.

GMM: Development Progress

I've done some major development on GMM this afternoon. The new database is in place and most of the old functionality has been restored. I also did some cleanup in the GUI code and also that is mostly working as before. Next step (probably tomorrow) will be finish up the clean up and restore everything to the old ways and start implementing the advanced tag editing. Note that flac and mpc is already in (which involved editing one line of code).

Hopefully tomorrow there will be a Goggles Music Manager 0.6.1!

Upcoming Development

I have really nice plans for Goggles Music Manager. First of all I found a much better Tag reading/writing library (taglib) which allows me to support Musepack and FLAC as well. Second since we now can write tags as well, I'm planning to add tag editing capability as well. It will be really nice. Let's say for example you change the name of an artist, any file associated with that artist will be changed (as well as merging albums with same name).

Now I had to make some database changes in order to support this. So everyone needs to refill their database.

Saturday.... Hack Day!

What started out as a very innocent check to make sure Goggles Music Manager (GMM) was still running with the latest FOX version ended up with a complete hack-fest. I found a buffer overrun in FOX and changed the way sorting works in GMM, rearranged some menus and made it overall much better.

FOX 1.6.0-rc1

FOX 1.6.0-rc1 was released yesterday evening. Both my musicmanager and dvd player have been updated to work with them. Once FOX becomes stable I'll be releasing new versions of these.

Halloween

As last year, I survived this year's halloween by not being home. I actually went bowling last night. I didn't suck as much as last time, although I didn't pass a 100 at all. Oh well better luck next time.
